As a college professor, teaching is my “jam”. An extension of this profession served me well when I became a yoga teacher. Having participated in numerous teacher trainings and workshops, I gained the informed insight of discovering my dharma as a teacher and once I did so, I set myself on the path to taking a deeper dive into why we do what we do as part of our yoga practice. Teaching yoga teachers, or anyone who wants to expand their understanding of yoga, is my passion. As a YACEP provider, CE credits are always available.
A few representative workshops appear below. Please reach out to discuss your student’s needs.

An Introduction to the Early History of the Yoga Timeline
*Can be adapted for teaching trainings into longer sessions according to your needs.
You are aware that yoga has a history dating back to more than 2500 years ago. You’ve heard of the Vedas, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras, and you know that origin of asana is rooted in these texts and traditions. What did yoga look like at its beginnings? Who were the practitioners of yoga? What is the origin of the Eight Limbs of Yoga? How does our asana practice differ from the yoga of the past 4500 years?
In a condensed format, learn about the historical and philosophical underpinnings of yoga that inform our modern postural yoga practice beginning with the first use of the word “yuj”. Using easily understood and relatable terms, Brenda will tap into your curiosity and explain how the ancient wisdom of yoga continues to shape the foundation of modern yoga.
Finding Your Dharma
*A one-hour hands-on workshop
What is dharma as defined in the Bhagavad Gita? How does it relate to identifying your purpose and passion in life? What happens when your dharma is ignored? And most importantly, what is YOUR dharma? Join Brenda as she explains the connection between dharma as introduced in the Bhagavad Gita to your personal journey on the road to peace and fulfillment.
The Gita is a transformational text that is steadfast in its universal and inclusive appeal to all of humanity. Using the Gita as a backdrop, students will be given tools to define their dharma and overcome the doubt that we often encounter in the face of tremendous obstacles. Through personal introspection and self-realization, these tools will champion personal growth while navigating the pathway forward. Familiarity with the Bhagavad Gita is helpful but not necessary as an introduction to the Gita is included.
